Once your child is asleep you don’t have to be brave anymore.

Hi Mama,

How are you doing today? Am I the first one to ask you that?

I know you’re scared right now. I know this because I am too.

We are scared that we won’t have enough food or diapers for our child.

We are scared that our child, our world could get sick.

We are scared that what we are teaching our child is wrong.

We are scared of what tomorrow holds.

The weight of the world is on your shoulders right now, but mama you are not alone.

You are brave. WE are brave.

Brave through breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Brave through playtime and bath time.

WE are brave, so our littles can be little.

So that when the world has changed completely, theirs has not.

Bed time is the hardest because once your child is asleep you don’t have to be brave anymore. Bed time is for the tears. Tears because you miss your family and your friends.

Tears because you miss your co-workers.

Tears because your heart hurts for the world.

Tears because you are afraid that tomorrow could be the day where you don’t have it in you to be brave.

But Mama there is something you need to know… By morning your tears will have dried.

The worry you felt yesterday will fade away with one look into those big beautiful eyes waiting to hug you.

A smile that is so contagious it will make your day start off with a smile.

This is when you will feel hope. Hope that we will come out of this stronger.

Hope that these beautiful children will continue to bring so much light into the world that it will change the world as we know it.

Breathe mama. You are not alone. We are in this together.

Together, we are not just raising children, we are raising hope.
